Stacy

Registered Dental Hygienist and Hygiene Department Head

JOINED: March 2006

As a dental hygienist Stacy works together with colleagues and dentists to provide valuable oral health needs to patients. Stacy began as a dental hygienist in 1993. She received her dental hygiene education in the Bay Area at Foothill College. She worked in the Bay Area until her husband’s job relocated the couple to Roseville in 2005. While working for David Marshall DMD in Milpitas Stacy received “The Best Dental Hygienist in Milpitas” award twice. For Stacy those awards confirmed she had chosen the right career.  

BACKGROUND:

Stacy has worked at Yamamoto and Lee for 8 years. Prior to that she worked in two other offices, one in San Jose for 2 1/2 years and another in Milpitas for 9 1/2 years. She also worked as a temporary dental hygienist for various offices when they needed coverage.

PERSONAL INTERESTS:

Stacy has been married since December 1994, and she and her husband have two children, Nick and Kaitlyn. She also has a Maltipoo named Milou. Stacy is orginally from Milpitas, CA and lived in Fremont/Newark during her early adult years. Stacy and her family moved to Roseville in 2005 due to Stacy’s husband’s job relocation. As a family they love to camp and travel! Stacy’s personal hobbies are sewing and quilting. About those, Stacy says, “I tell everyone it is my “therapy!”

WHY I LOVE MY WORK:

“I work with an awesome staff! They are awesome because we all have a common goal and that is to take care of people and each other. Tina

Registered Dental Hygienist

JOINED: May 2004

Tina is responsible for the care and education of dental patients. She performs dental cleanings, assessment of periodontal conditions, oral cancer screening, radiographs, anesthesia (if necessary) and patient education in oral hygiene. Tina was licensed in 1986 and has been licensed in Washington, California and Hawaii.

She keeps up on current trends and innovations in the field by attending continuing education courses, attending seminars, and conversing with other professionals.

She went into dentistry because, “I wanted to study more about oral disease and how to help people get better.  I love what I do helping people be healthy and forming close relationships with the patients.”

BACKGROUND:

Tina graduated with honors from Shoreline Dental Hygiene School in Washington state in 1986. Tina is experienced in periodontal, General Dentistry, and Oral Surgery practices. Tina’s main area of interest is in helping patients with periodontal disease to achieve a level of healthy maintenance, as this disease affects overall health by way of inflammation. Inflammatory cells attack the heart, liver and kidneys, posing a risk of illness that Tina wants to help her patients avoid. Her training also includes emergency medicine through the Red Cross and Office of Emergency Services.

PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS:

Tina is a member of the Sacramento Emergency Medical Response Team, where her duties include preparation for national health or incident disasters. Tina regularly attends trainings in shelter preparedeness, distribution of mass vaccinations, triage, injury treatment and mass disaster response.

PERSONAL INTERESTS:

Tina’s hobbies are making jewelry and ceramics. She has also spent a great deal of time training in meditation and she belongs to a Sanga where they meet weekly to meditate. Tina also has people over to meditate at her house often. Tina says, “I’m very interested in mindfulness training and learning how to create a calm environment. I have experienced a great deal of traumatic experiences in my personal life and I feel that has made me a strong and compassionate person.”

WHY I LOVE MY WORK:

“Dr. Yamamoto and Dr. Lee are compassionate and careful. They do not over-diagnose patients and the work they do is excellent. Their cosmetic dentistry is the best I have ever seen. I love how family-oriented our office is. The doctors are very interested in taking care of entire families in the practice as well as making sure we are able to keep our own families healthy and happy. I LOVE our patients! I have worked in many practices and we have the best patients ever.”

Katie

Registered Dental Hygienist

JOINED: 2007, hygienist since 2010

As a dental hygienist, Katie promotes, educates and helps to maintain good oral health. Regular procedures include dental cleanings, scaling and root planing for patients with periodontal disease, X-rays, sealants and instructing oral hygiene care.

Katie first became a dental assistant in 2003 when she graduated from Sacramento City College. After graduation, she moved to San Diego and worked for a few years at two offices in Poway and La Jolla, CA. In 2006, Katie moved back home to Sacramento and found her “dream office” at Yamamoto and Lee in 2007. She then returned to school in 2008 to pursue her dream of becoming a dental hygienist.

After graduating in 2010, she, as she says, “was fortunate enough to be able to return to my dental home at Yamamoto and Lee.”

PERSONAL INTERESTS:

“I am a married mother of a two and a half-year-old son, which means when I am not doing dishes, I am changing diapers. I love being a mom and I am so blessed that I am able to work three days a week, so I can enjoy these short, wondrous years.”

WHY I LOVE MY WORK:

“I love developing relationships with patients and look forward to their return visits. I enjoy following their lives and hearing about accomplishments, jobs, family and vacations. I thrive on their happiness. I feel privileged to be in a profession that I truly enjoy.”

Nicole

Registered Dental Hygienist

JOINED: January 2010

As a dental hygienist, Nicole provides services that promote oral health, as well as therapeutic services to help stop disease and maintain health. Nicole also educates patients on how to properly maintain their oral health and on the importance of developing healthy oral care habits.  

BACKGROUND:

Nicole was a Registered Dental Assistant for 16 years, a dental office manager, and a receptionist before obtaining her degree from Sacramento City College in Dental Hygiene in 2010.

PERSONAL INTERESTS:

“I am married to Paul and am a mother of 3: Cory, Jesse, and Isaiah. Currently, we spend our time as a couple trying to keep up with the kids. I enjoy reading, camping, and spa days.”

WHY I LOVE MY WORK:

“The fact that this team enjoys spending time together outside of the office shows that they really care about one another and that shows in how they care for their patients.”

FAVORITE COMPLIMENT:

“I like when I hear a simple ‘thank you.’ I also love to hear, ‘You were gentle, but thorough.’”
